About
My name is Norman Reid. I’m retired now from the federal government, where I had a satisfying and successful career of 27 years. I am working now as an author and photographer. You can read about those activities on my blog, positivepix.net.
I write about depression because, like many men, I experienced what has come to be recognized as classic male depression, deep but unfelt and unrecognized pain behind a mask of super responsibility and workaholism. I’ve been in recovery from my severe depression for about a decade now and have made excellent progress.
At the encouragement of my therapists, I’ve decided to write a book about my experiences and about depression in men generally. They tell me I have a lot to say about the subject. We’ll see, but I think they’re right.
